Dr. Spyros Christou-Champi is Head of Social Protection, Responsible Gaming and Communication at the Cyprus Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission, focusing on player protection, gambling-related harm prevention, and responsible gaming measures within the casino sector. With a multidisciplinary background in public mental health, he combines scientific evidence, regulatory practice, and prevention policy. His work includes developing responsible gaming initiatives, researching problem gambling and associated risk factors, and collaborating with national and international partners on harm minimisation and safer gambling. His research interests also include stress regulation and vulnerability to problem gambling, with an emphasis on translating evidence into effective prevention and player protection practices.
