  • From beating the Go world champion, to solving the protein-folding problem, to the release of ChatGPT, recent advances in AI are increasingly making the technology both ubiquitous and mysterious in the public conciousness. With public perception being shaped between utopian and dystopian extremes, I will explain the science driving modern AI in everyday language, thereby laying the groundwork for a realistic assessment of its benefits and risks. It is with this principled understanding of how AI works that we can ensure the utilisation of the benefits and the management of the risks in forthcoming regulations such as Europe's AI Act.

The Cyprus Football Federation supports Safer Gambling Week. The 7th round of Cyta Championship is dedicated to Safer Gambling Week, aiming to inform and raise public awareness, as well as to involve and mobilize of the wider community in matters of promoting safer participation in gambling. All players of the first division teams will enter the playing field wearing T-Shirts with the message of the week.
