Sharon’s research explores the intersections between vulnerability and personal finance. She has examined the role of financial services in reducing gambling harm, including the design of bank card gambling blocks and how financial services firms can identify and support people at risk of gambling-related financial harm. She is currently exploring the links between problem debt and gambling with a national debt advice charity. Sharon is also a Research Affiliate at the University of Sydney; a member of the UK Financial Services Consumer Panel, a statutory panel that represents the interests of consumers in the development of policy for the regulation of financial services.
