Dr Eliza Patouris
Dr Eliza Patouris is an expert in young people’s risky behaviours including drug and gambling addiction and radicalisation. She is the co-Founder and Director of Research and Education in Social Empowerment and Transformation (RESET) Centre, an international centre with the purpose to promote a fair and peaceful world through transformative pedagogy, digital solutions, transformative dialogue and youth empowerment. She is a Lecturer of the MA Criminology programme at the University of Nicosia (Cyprus). Previously to that she taught Forensic Psychology and Social Psychology at the University of East Anglia (UK). Dr Patouris is also the Guest Editor of the Internet Journal of Restorative Justice. She has extensive experience in coordinating EU funded research projects on violent youth radicalization, addiction, social reintegration, capacity- building and social justice. Αn indicative example of her work is the recent first conference on ‘Youth Radicalisation’ in Cyprus co-organised with the Ministry of Justice and Public Order. She is an Advanced Dialogue Facilitator under the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange (Soliya) programme which provides young adults with a unique opportunity to develop an indepth understanding of their attitudes and beliefs on important social issues such as gambling, cyberbullying, drug use and extremism. Dr Patouris is also a Trainer of the Cyprus Youth Council where her work with young people focuses on empowerment, youth innovation and social inclusion.
